So much to share-so little time!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Yes-I'm a little Irish, so I wore some green today!
Wow-I can't believe it's been over a month since my last
post. I am the worst blogger ever-I know! Well, between
a cold, then a sinus infection-I was pretty much miserable
for a month. Anyway, I'm back to normal now and I have
tons to share with you. First is the SBEBB Frosty Friends
exchange. I had Linda and this is what I stitched for her.

Peppermint Paul by Helga Mandl
found in the gift of stitching magazine-issue #34
Stitched on my own hand dyed 28 ct monaco
with dmc and dmc color variations threads & mill hill beads
Linda has a really cool close up of the beads on her blog

This was only my second, but final exchange on this board as it was
closing. I wish I had found this board a lot earlier. But I totally understand
and respect the reasons why it closed! I wanted it to be special so I
crocheted this doily for her. I couldn't get the darn thing to lay flat- that's
why it's sticking up in the bottom right corner!

here's the entire exchange. I had read on her blog that she wished
for altoid tins to use for finishing so I found some in my stash and
sent them along.

This is what I received from Judith for the Frosty Friends exchange.
What unbelievable detail. There are charms and a little bell. You must
click on the photo-check out that cute little carrot nose! Thanks so much
Judith-I love it! It's still hanging in my kitchen. She also sent me some
pretty "six strand sweets" floss, of which I did not have any-until now!

Take care everyone and thanks for your visits!
I haven't forgotten, I am working on something
special for my belated blogoversary drawing!

Exchange Sharing!

First up is the HOE Lizzie Kate exchange. Hannah had my name and this is what she sent me.
With Valentine's day right around the corner, she decided to stitch me something with that theme. Isn't this the cutest little bee you've ever seen? She stitched a little pin pillow. And look
at that scalloped beaded edge-wow!
She even stitched on the back.

The entire exchange! And what pin pillow would be complete without pins. She made me my
own pins with shrinky dinks-can you believe it! How cool is that! Hopefully you can see them better if you click on photo. The chocolates are already gone and my younger two were begging
me to give them the giant cherry pop! Thanks Hannah for a really great exchange!

And last but certainly not least, my winter ornie for Joan for the ASOE. I stitched her a
freebie from bent creek called "swirlygig". It needed to be winter themed so I stitched it
on my own hand dyed blue-28 ct monaco. I used DMC color variations #4215. I thought
it was the perfect design for a wintery ornie. The swirls around the edges make me think
of snow and wind! I finished it off with a sparkly ribbon hanger, 2 snowflake buttons, and
silver glass beads around the edges. They really do sparkle! This was the first time I've ever used beads like this. Even though it was a bit of work-I think I will finish more ornies this way, the beaded edge just gives it that extra zing! Joan has a better photo on her blog.
Freebie found here
Take care everyone! Keep your eyes peeled, I'll be having a blogaversary drawing soon!

Winter Ornie from Joan

It is a cold, snowy day today here in my little part of Massachusetts. The kids had no school due to the 8 inches or so of snow we got. Now we're getting freezing rain on top of it. oh joy! Our local
community college was also closed today (which is where I'm working for the next few weeks).

So I had some extra time today and thought I'd share with you the gift I got over the weekend.
I received my winter ornament from Joan for the ASOE. Isn't he just the cutest thing ever! It's from Trilogy called Winterlogy. Just look at the beading around the edges. The hanger is all beads too! Wow! I showed it to DD (who's 10) right away. She's very interested in my stitching.
Joan stitched on both sides. Here's the other side. So perfectly stitched. I love it-thanks Joan!My winter ornie is on it's way to you Joan, so watch your mailbox! It should arrive Saturday!
I'm currently stitching on my Frosty Friends exchange for the SBEBB. Stay warm everyone!

Lizzie Kate for Carol

Carol sent me the most wonderful email letting me know she
had received her HOE Lizzie Kate exchange from me. She could
not believe this was my first box type finish.

Lizzie Kate- "winter wishes"
Stitched on 28 ct hand dyed (by me) monaco
with dmc, sampler, & wdw threads, & a snowflake button

Here is the inside of the wooden box. First I mounted
batting onto cardboard, then covered it with this snowman
fabric. Which is really sparkly, click on photo for a closer
view.

The enitre exchange, including the goodies. I made the
little snowman tissue holder! I like to give them as gifts.
They are so handy. I don't know about you but I'm always
in need of a kleenex when I'm out and about!

I am currently putting the finishes touches on a
winter ornie for the ASOE...so stay tuned!
Thanks for visiting!

Prairie Schooler from Cyndi

This week I received a cute little "spring themed" magnet from
Cyndi for the Year Long PS exchange. It used to be one of their
mini freebie charts. Thanks Cyndi, I love it! It went right on my
fridge the minute I opened it!
Oh how I long for Spring and warm weather. I'm sick of these frigid
New England winters. Where the temp dips down into the single
digits, or even sometimes below 0. We had a heat wave today-LOL,
it was a whopping 38*degrees!
Stay tuned, I am waiting for a certain someone to receive their Lizzie
kate exchange and then I can post it! Till then, thanks for stopping by!
